[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I love electrical storms! I was in the middle of my driveway, with a tripod, trying once again to capture lightning. It's difficult in the dark with aging eyes trying to focus, and my husband coaxing me into the house from the front door, but I'm sure with your help I'll be better prepared next time.

Had to run this through Neat Image to lose some noise, and consequently lost the exif data. Manual, speed--30 sec, aperture 18, ISO 1600, focal length 18mm, white balance set to auto. Bumped contrast to 35.

Very well done Karen! Capturing lightning like this is very difficult, and nerve racking to do. I don't blame your husband for doing that. Very well done!

Lars

An excellent capture Karen. LOvely darker colours in the background, good silhouettes and the lightning bolts impressive.

Hello Karen,
I love electrical storm, too, but I don't take a shot of them...
This shot is very good and wonderful!

Hi Karen
I like this shot. I love watching lightening. I did try to photograph a storm one night but ended up with about 400 black squares!!!
I like the way the clouds are going over some of the lightening.

Very fine work! The long exposure and the long dof work very well together to bring out the best of multiple strikes
Superb posting

Hi Karen,
I hope this was not the storm which caused us to lose power for almost a day. The lighting is beautifully captured. Good technique, and I admire your readiness with your tripod. Best regards, Danilo

Hello Karen,
Beautiful capture of the storm.
I like the lighting bolts, and nice composition. TFS

Bonne journée.

Hello Karen,

We had a horrible thunderstorm too the other day, but unfortunately is was during daytime and no such good effects as we see here!
I'm always impressed by those multiple lightnings, so I guess this was quite heavy as you got three of them during 30 sec...
Excellent work, impressive!

Greetings,
Pablo -

bonjour Karen

Well done Karen. Good composition and focus. Well exposed.

You are motivating me to try some lightning shots, especially since the monsoon season is here and they will be occurring several times a week now.

TFS,
David

I really like this. Evokes a strong emotion ( like running away) which is a result we all look for in our images (the emotion part/not the running away).
You did very good keeping the lightening from "blooming" and still kept detail in tree skyline and sky/clouds.

Hi Karen,
"lights, camera, action" :-))
Good effort - but the image is a bit noisy and takes away a bit from it's overall quality.

A lower ISO helps to eliminate noise.
Best regards, Daniel

HI Karen..you are a talented woman....your shots are very good..congratulations.
