I regretted not having my tripod with me as I took a walk in the woods adjacent to the park I posted a shot from yesterday. The detached stump made a curious impression on me. The cycle of life with colorful leaves surrounding the long gone.

This was hand held at 1/15. I used the lasso tool to decrease background brightness, added overall contrast and increased saturation. I lost the EXIF data when I removed the graininess due to the high ISO.

Thanks for viewing and have a great day!

Hi Werner

I like the repetition of the bg verticals, & the shallow dof, focussed on the fg log / uprooted old tree. Good Fall colors, with excellent sharpness & framing. Tfs!

Werner
Wonderful capture this broken wood!
Great colors!
Horia

Lovely capture, Werner, my friend!

The tree gives nice artistic look to the picture with great dried leaves covering some part of it. The sharpness and POV are wonderful with lovely natural colors.

very well seen.

best regards,
Paras

The mighty are fallen... speaks of the transitory nature of life and the enormous forces of nature Interesting contrast with the leaves that speak of a rebirth in the spring and the actual death of the leaf producing organism TFS
warm regards
David

Hi Werner,
Over the weekend, I attended a sculpture exhibit of life size horses by a Texan artist using driftwood and wood stumps. The featured stump is sharp and textured. Fine exposure you have achieved, the outline of trees on the b/g drapes the scene and atmosphere well. Cheers.
Danilo

Hi Werner!

I always look forward to your posts. I know if I had taken this hand-held shot that it would not have been as sharp as this. I think it's an interesting photo. I just took a similar one this weekend, but it doesn't look this good.

Great concept with the "cycle of life!"

TFS
Dennis
