[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The center of Hurricane Katrina passed through the middle of my town at 1:00 p.m. with wind speeds of around 120mph, with wind gusts at 140. In the course of events it knocked down several power poles. Here is one of the power poles I found laying on the ground. The entire street had power poles laying in this same form on the ground. Keep watching for more pictures of my town and the destruction Hurricane Katrina left.

Good shot Derrick! I like the tight crop on the power pole. Be careful around those live wires!

Hi Derrick

A good photojournalistic shot of the damage. Hope you didn't get too close to the live wires.
