Crunched Car

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| At 1:00 p.m. the center of Hurricane Katrina passed through my town with speeds exceeding 120mph. This is my friend's Bonneville. Luckily work sent him to Arkansas where he stayed through the entire storm before we even knew the storm was headed our way. I went by his house to see his car and carport gone. By the time this picture was taken we had already cleared a lot of the debris which you can see in the foreground. |

Thanks for the reminder of the power of the storm. Glad no one was hurt in this case. Miracles occur in strange ways.
It almost looks like his car was untouched. Katrina was a real nightmare and I'm glad there wasn't worse damage to your area than this. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Derrick
Oops! I hope you are watching the approach of Hurricane Rita. It looks every bit as bad as Katrina, so far.
We have those same pine trees growing around south east Qld. I've heard they're native to Florida. Good photojournalism.
I see all these disasterpictures Derrick; you are very involved and you must because you are living there, I guess. I hope you will have the power and the trust to build up your world again.
All the best over there.
