[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found this leaf and placed it for a more dramatic effect than on the pathway where it lay. The dark green makes a nice backdrop. The black mold you see developing causes allergies, but so far, so good. It actually looks pretty neat and had some amazing color to it. It had just rained, so it was damp and cool.

PP--just sized, sharpened and posted.

You could not have placed it on a better background. It complements the leave and brings it out pretty good. Nice and sharp, (Crisp, hope right word). excellent DOF. Nice placing of 3 thirds.

Your placing on the tree branch gives you better ways to compose it. I like what you did. The leaf may be sick but its colors shout, "Merry christmas!"

Initially, I thought that you shot this scene with the flash but, based on the info, it wasn't the case. Perhaps, you should have blocked the light a little to avoid those white spots on the leaf. The composition is great and the colors are well captured.
