Time for a sun break

Saw this wood moth resting on a leaf and taking a sunbath so I took a shot of him. I was doing a 'tour' of some areas of the Cherokee National Forest and there's always something interesting in the late spring, summer or fall to photograph.
PP-cropped down to make moth seemingly large, darkened and contrasted the light. Loved the color, so no enhancements there. This is the time of the 'peak' of summer and colors are vibrant. Resharpened. Taken in macro mode. |

Hi Gary,
Great sharpness and a lovely composition with great saturated colors. The lighting is perfect controlled giving it good details. I would have cropped of the partial leaf at the right and maybe cut in even more. Also a even wider aperture might work well.

Niek
P.S. I still don't understand why you call this a macro. You lens isn't capable of making a macro and the macro mode doesn't make it a macro.
Good detail and compo in this picture. Color stands out well - beware of predators!
Cheers
Otto
