I took the picture in a wooded section of my back yard and discovered I had a "native" azalea. It is not all that rare along the east coast of the US, but I was surprised to find it in my urban environment.

Nice shot! You've managed to capture a nice image of this Azalea! I think I'd have tried for a little more DOF to get those stamens on the right a little sharper, there's also a little bit of ISO noise - were you shooting at 100ASA? Well captured :-D
Welcome to TrekLens!
Nice one John, this is a beautiful picture, very well captured, the different shades of pink and purple give it a very tranquil feel.
Maybe it could have been sharpened a little more. Otherwise nice shot.
Welcome to TL.

Beautiful colours on this one John and I like how you isolated the flowers from their background. I agree with Adrian's comments, but find the picture a pleasure to view nonetheless. :)
Well equilibrated photo and nice colors. Oh and strange flower :)
