I would not be as hard as Serjo Brian. For me the look is more as if he is tiered and wants to sleep, and why not let him rest on the sofa. I am sure he is loved like any other memeber of the family :-)As for the picture, i am curiosu of if you used a flash or not. It loosklike it. Hit has made the light a litle bit hard. You can difuse the flash with a paper sheet or so infront of it. It is a good tip ;-) I can see thsi was not an easy place to take the pictre but i can also see why you wanted to have a picture of him laying like this. He looks very cute. You could try and zoom in even more, on his face and paws. Taht would make it more personal and it would bring out more charachter. I can see that you are quit new to TL, so...welcome to TL Brian. I am sure you will enjoy it here.

Hi Brian,
Cute dog! No wonder you wanted to take a picture of it. ;) Your composition is nice. Normally, I wouldn't go for center, but, with portraiture it seems to be okay. He's a small dog but still fills the area well enough. In my opinion, the background is too clear, perhaps a larger aperature would've been better here (and stepping closer would've made the dof more shallow, too). The exposure looks okay to me. I think the flash worked fine. I actually like how the flash highlighted some of his darker hairs and gave a bit more texture, but, that's my opinion, once again. Anyhow, very cute dog...you got him when it really counted.
Thanks for sharing. And....
Welcome to TL!! ;]
Richard
