[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A small group of trees in the middle of the sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge State Park in Nags Head, North Carolina. This was a rather lush clump of vegitation in the middle of the sand dunes at this state park. Taken with a good amount of back lighting and with a circular polarizer to help give the sky a little color. I tried to use the shadows in front of the trees to add a little dynamic to the image.

Hello John,

This is a truly good composition, the balance is perfect. The clarity is brilliant.

Regards,

John, varying from your usual, this is a really nice photograph. You used all the appropriate tools at your command for the best results, i.e. the polarizing filter. This makes a very pleasing wall framed photograph for the den or office, or a great computer monitor screen background. Thanks for taking the time to photograph and share this piece.

Hi John,

Nice photo of the dunes. About 20 years ago I climbed this dune at the outer banks. Harder than it appears!! I really like the shadow that the tree casts on the sand. Also, the repetitive patterns in the sand add a lot of interest to the composition. It looks nice in color, but I bet it would be terrific in black and white too. :) Lisa
