This posting is for
floteusrx who wanted to see a photo from Oklahoma. :) It was taken right next to my house in my tiny little town.
This will probably just look like an ordinary tree to others, but to me, this tree is something special.
It was a beautiful foggy morning. I was woken by my cat who was scratching at the window right next to my bed, irratated by the numerous squirrels that were running around outside, darting from tree to tree. I peered out to see what she was so excited about and saw this pretty scene. I quickly jumped up, half awake, grabbed my camera and ran outside to shoot this.
My father says this Elm tree is hundreds of years old. I remember running around in this little park area as a child. The neighborhood kids (all five of us ;) would play "hide N seek" or "kick the can" for hours upon end. It was so much fun! I have so many fond memories of this area. The buildings you see in the background on the right are the highschool/gradeschool buildings where I went to elementary school.

Love the tree,...
And just to say that no tree can be ordinary!!!
How bigg or small he may be.

THat's a neat picture. I think it would have been a bit nicer had you of captured everything of the tree. Should have tried cloning out the sign as well, it is a little distracted, made the picture look to have a bit more fog.

This is a very stately tree, and am sure a great place to sit under during the hot summer days. How nice to be able to reminisce all your childhood memories by this tree. Good composition and lighting. The fog adds some nice atmosphere. Thanks to the cat.
Sorry, out of points for today.

Nice to see you back, Stacey. Congrats on the camera ;o). TFS these childhood memories with us, by means of this beautiful tree. I love the early morning, foggy feel here.

Welcome Back Stacey !! missed your pictures.
One can see this is a very old tree..reading the note I can see why you took this shot ..a sentimental picture ..but you captured the fog very well ..great shot for being half a sleep :-))

Good to see you back, Stacey, and this tree certainly does look proud. Ican see why the scene called out to you. You managed a fog scene extremely well, it seems to me. In fact, the only thing I would have done differently is move the tree off center just a little bit more.

Stacey,
This picture is so comforting. I can see "HOME" written all over it. Maybe it's because I've seen so many Oklahoma mornings. You've captured a moment of tranquility with this shot. I still havan't learned what makes a great picture but I know what I like when I see it and I think this one's a winner:-)

Awww shucks, you mentioned me! I'm blushin' right to my roots! Jeez, that tree must be the "centerpiece" of town. It's evidently huge! I'm assuming you shot real wide. I really like misty morning shots like this one. Makes me long to be back in Washington.
By the way, isn't the speed limit sign a little redundant? I mean...do they actually have speedometers on tractors? Oh, and one more thing....your Okee is starting to show...as most people are Awoken or Awoke. You REALLY didn't think I was just going to let that get by, did you?
