[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in the Reedy River, Downtown Greenville, SC. I tried to compose this shot around the conflicting lines, tones, and textures. Dark vs. Light, if you will.

Hi Kyle,

YOu indeed had a very nice idea about what you wanted to show in this image. The thing is, I think you tried to include too much in the scene and everything got a bit lost.
First of all, your shot is very bright, hat makes dificult to see the details and textures. There are parts on it that are overexposed (white part in the bottom left for exemple. Then the contrasts need a bit of improvement, for the same reason, When you want to show details and textures, good contrasts are very important. Then, your comp. when you want to emphasise things one should go for smalled frames, tigher and more effective. If you try to show too much in one frame, you end up with nothing really exciting, because it's too much and very small. I would suggest you compose your image with less elements, but take the best out of them.
And then, your frame shouldn't fight with your subject for attention. It can be a matter of taste, but I think that a plain frame would do better for your subject than a more elaborated one. Or maybe I would have doone thinner strokes instead of the thick balck one.
Well that's just my thoughts on this image, I hope I didn't offend you.in anyway.

You have good ideas, very creative ones. Just need a bit of work. So, don't give up and kkep trying

take care, Stef :))

ps: I did a ws and I hope you don't mind.
