First signs showing up. Even as far south as South Carolina. We don't usually reach the peak color until the last of October/beginning of November. The leaves are already beginning to turn and most of the flowers from this tree are gone - replaced by those late summer berries of some kind. I will miss fall in the mountains again, I guess. I love late summer light, though, and the long shadows we begin to get.

I did little beyond the basics for this. Cropped, sharpened, framed. Maybe some tweaks in light and shadow. I never paid much attention to this lens, because I have others I like better. This one does a pretty nice job its own self. Hope you enjoy this.

Hi,Shelly. Wow. Nice saturated color in that leaf heralding fall season, excellent sharpness, DOF and a well balanced composition. I read somewhere that these fall colors are due the chemical changes of the sugar content. Cheers and TFS.

Dear Shelly
Superb focus you've done here, excellent close up with fine details of these amazing leaves
Also I like the strong bokeh of BG, good management...bravo
Best wishes
Alireza

Good one Shelly, looks like a painting. Very defined details, the thing I really like is that it's virtually all natural. Fine choice for the DOF - Looking forward to seeing what the trees look like when the season is in 'full force' :). It was the first day of Spring here yesterday.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Shelly,

Yes, this is how it begins. Nice diagonal composition with excellent sharpness and DOF. I prefer the natural look in photography, so this is right up my alley. Nice work and TFS.

Warm regards,
Werner

Shelly, you are the "Mother Earth", my new designation for you. You seem to be in touch with all things Mother Nature has created for us to see and photograph, and you photograph it very well. I love the image of transition.
