So many lights, so much noise, so many people, riding scary rides, shocked at them wanting $7 for a corndog...LOL I guess sensory overload is part of the fun at a State Fair.

I took this from one of the many Ferris Wheels they had at the fair. This was taken from just above the rooftop of the carousel. I was using my 85mm prime lens and am always amazed I don't use it for much besides portraits. It does a great job. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Shelly,
Awesome shot, seems like you managed to fit everything in nicely. Looks like a lot of fun, can almost hear the screaming and excitement from here, lol :). $7 for a corndog is insane! The exposure of 1/200 looks like it worked well, so much more effective at night when everything is lit up. Good going.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Shelly - fair go with the 85mm prime.. As you say primarily a portrait lens but a good job with this as everything fits in!!!

To be honest I'd like to see this in the 'blue hour' rather than the black of night but still a great nocturnal photo...

Hi Shelly,

Excellent shot with an appropriate title. You're right, they dazzle us with all of the bright lights and make us happy to fork over $7 for a corn dog.

Your fast prime lens worked well for this, allowing for a relatively low ISO and fast shutter given the darkness. Very sharp and colorful.

Warm regards,
Werner

Hello Shelly

Nice work on this image. The pov and capture of the light is awesome. Nice work

Hi Shelly,
How long for you to choose this great POV? I think your image has captured the mood of a fairground exceptionally well,so much so I think I can hear the music from the Ferris Wheels.
The fast f1.8 lens sure worked well in capturing this scene.
Well thought out strong composition.

Hello Shelly, I can almost hear the fairground music!
Talking of prices,I am amazed at how much people will pay to ride on some of these attractions!

Great shot, your elevated PoV gives us a good view over the fair. The attractions with all their bright lights show really well.
Good composition with the two wheels off centre and balanced by the triangle.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Shelly...great night shot...wonderful details and sharpness.

Roger

Hi Shelly,
I like your carousels photo a lot, although I canīt ride on them as I am heaving myself out even walking along.
What a colour mix and lightness. (I mean in your photo, not
in my face during being there). Well, ok, congratulations, by.

Helly Shelly,
there is a nice balance created by the two circles and the triangle. You've captured the atmosphere too of a fairground at night. Good work.
Can't remember when I was last on a Ferris wheel.
best regards,
Bev

Man, I tried and TRIED to get a shot like this at Niagara Falls...I gotta see if MAYBE one came out this sharp! Really nice work Shelly! I gotta try this more often! That is just incredible, one of your best!

Hello Shelly,
A wonderful shot, the framing is superb.
All wheels and carousels of lights, is simply splendid. We have wanted to participate in the ride, because in fact the music is missing.
Good evening.
John
