[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another one of my 'animal shots' that sometimes go real well like this one and sometimes because of distance, movement, etc., tend to blur out a bit. In this case, the deer was close enough to get a nice shot. A young buck and very healthy for the protected population at this beautiful park. If you're quiet when you hike along the lakeside trail, you can even sneak up on small herds and I'll post one of those later where I got 3 of them together as a family.

PP--light frame, sharpen, shot as is where is, no cropping.

Hi Gary,
Great capture with your telephoto. Very sharpe image, so you must have steady hands! It's a skill being in the right place at the right time, and by the look on the face of the deer, you have that skill! Well done and TFS.
John

Nice nature shot. I do not like the frame however. It adds nothing to the picture, just distracts.

Please do not shot it, only "shot" it. What a lovely being!
Thanks for share it Gary.

Love it. I've got a doe shot with the same pose. Bill

....and if you are too quiet, bears might sneek up on you while you are taking the shot. Just kidding. I like to go when nobody is around, because tourists chase the wildlife away. Had a good outing last weekend....go again this weekend, the best time, since our park is now closing down.
Cheers
Otto

Hello Gary!
very lucky shot and
great capture of the buck!
Greetings,
Jana

Excellent! I would love this photo opportunity! Congrats on a great capture.
What happened to our friend, Jogh? His comments are erased and his photos are too!

Hi Gary... excellent shot, he does seem to be saying will you hurry up I have things to do. Good colour, lovely light. TFS,
David
Many thanks for your comment on

a fine pose and a good title to go with it..you must stalk these a lot..that deer looks like it knows you..:)
good lighting here keeps the animal in the 'spotlight' and you have dealt with the large contrast range well.dark forest helps to push out the image towards us..
cheers
geof

Great capture - I love the contrast between the golden colours of the deer against the vibrant greens.
Thanks for sharing

great shot of the young buck! as if he really posed for u.

tfs,
tet

i like this photos. but to me i think you are not using tripod is it ? cause i can see the line in the middle of the photos. seems like you shake a bit while taking it. as a whole i think without that line that photo will look great

Hi Gary,
A wonderful shot. I came upon a similar scene myself only a couple of weeks ago, and by the time I reached the camera, the deer were gone.

What is the horizontal line in the center running through the picture? Did you get rid of a wire or fence?

Congratulations, yours didn't get away!
Karen

Good nature shot
Like the eye contact
don't like the frame you use

Hi Gary! Beautiful shot! Colours and sharpness are good. I see one cable(wire) on the middle?...Gretings! Lili

Hi Gary,
Great capture. The roebuck look to you like a star. I see you love wildeness and nature. It's good to shoot only with your camera, so you can share. Thank you. I think it look better without frame.
Best regards,
Catalin

Nice model and interesting shot.
I like the nature.
I expect too you promissed picture from the mountains.
bye Aga

Hello Gary,
I like the way he is looking at you over the shoulder!
Over here it is hunting season now, so I'm afraid many of him Norwegian cousins live in danger nowadays...
Well composed image with good colours!
Greetings,
Pablo -

good framing and a nice picture of game which is not easy to be "shot"

Hello Gary,
I like animal shots especially when taken in the wild like this one :) I think that details are pretty good with good DOF and composition. My only nit is this frame that I think is a little disturbing. I guess it is a question of taste. Great shot! TFS,
Claudine

Splendid ! the subject and the vegetation too...
