[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken during the rain on our first night in Memphis - this the Pepsi-Cola Pavilion that surrounds W.C. Handy Park, there are a few stages for blues bands to perform and it can be turned into a small outdoor commercial venue, as well. This evening there were a couple bands and vendors of tourist and handmade art items right inside the arches, for free. Of course, they all got rained out, like so many others this weekend.

Linda and I were cowering under the awning of a local watering hole, waiting out the worst of the rain when I noticed the nice blue reflections and the gold sconces on the pillars of the pavilion. This is another view of Beale Street in the night.

It's nice to have a photo in the gallery that isn't cluttered up with humans in it like so many of my past shots, especially of Memphis. They really get in the way, don't they? I think everyone needs a shot or two of flowers and mountains and rainstorms to break up the human element. Maybe some day I will get back to that, I don't know. The humans keep jumping in front of my lens...

I only have a few more Memphis shots to share, probably be done by the end of the week or so. I can hear a collective sigh of relief from the handful of folks that take a look at my work, thank the Lord, maybe he'll get back to rocks and mountains and depth of field and stop screwing up these people he's trying to portray!

What's next? Who knows, I have to take some more pictures, I guess. I've been concentrating on work too much lately, so I will have to take a trip to one of my outlying sites so I can couple it with shooting some pictures...

So, anyway, have a great day today - I'll see ya tomorrow, I hope, with some more filler from Memphis...
