Under the Tree

| An old picture taken somewhere near Austin, TX in the summer of 99. It lost quality in the scanning process. Picture taken with a Nikon N70 and 105mm lens. Even though the colors are not good, I liked the atmosphere. Hope you like it too. |

Hi Robert,
Actually I really like the coloring of this photo.
It has that painting feel to it with good saturation to me.
Of course I was not there and have not seen the original but I really do enjoy the mood/atmospher with the current palette of colors.
Cropping the white border would help to clean up the photo as the border is only on two sides.
I'm going to put this in my favorites theme for I think there is a really nice uniqueness to this scan/photo.
I do enjoy your composition and maybe cropping some of the left side would keep the eye focused on the birds.
Nice work!

great picture, yes the atmosphere is great. keep it up :0)
I don't think the color is bad at all. There is a little detail lost in the tree trunk, but the overall composition is beautiful.
wow...feels like a fairytale....i really love the mood and the greenish tone. superb!

It's almost looks like a painting. Very well captured. Nice colors and mood.
Hi! Robert,
Thanks for your recent critique! Although this is a weak scan the scene is great. Composition is perfect with the tree framing very well. Drooping branch breaks the parallel lines at the ideal point. Their beaks creating a circle of focus and small birds "feathering" off nicely from the group. The attention is well held at the base of the tree. I did a WS to adjust the strong contrast slightly and neutralize the white feathers.
TFS.
Mike.
