Midlake #1 - balloon maker.

I originally posted this image at my TrekEarth page, but it seems more appropriate here. The following note accompanied the image:

This is Tim Smith, lead singer of a great band called Midlake (www.midlake.net). They have a really intense emotional sound and play videos along with their songs. This is a song called Balloon Maker.

On a side note, I've recently moved and have my computer in a box. I'm at my inlaws and grabbed this image from my flickr account. I really don't do a lot of concert photography... although I love shooting at shows I go to.

Selective desaturation works here (if that's how the process was made to arrive to this beautiful b/w/r combination). But whatever, the color combination is very attractive and the red on the singer serves to emphasize the character of the band. You know right away that this band would be different. Good job!

Another beautiful image in this series, Trey (another I had seen but failed to leave a comment on it). I really like your composition with the two layers with the image of the woman so big behind the singer. The red against the b&W works really well to show the two layers. Very intelligent & artistic composition. Well done!
