Sarah #2 - Christmas Angel

My wife's family has a big party every Christmas. This image is from minutes before we left. Anytime she has on one of those big bows I melt. She's the cutest.

It was a tricky shot to get because Sarah wasn't all that well lit and the background held a fair amount of light. So, I had to do some PP magic to make it work. Of course, the details of how I got there are far from my brain. The other interesting thing I found happening was the noise really began to give the image a flim-like quality. I was shooting a 1600 ISO and you don't get the cleanest images when its set that fast, but I really like the look. And I remember making a conscious decision to push the "grain" more than normal because it seemed to add something.

Super work with the limited depth of field and the graininess of the ISO 1600 is sublime.

Excellent work Trey. The shallow DoF and graininess really work for me. I also like the odd angle you've used. Very atmospheric shot, you've inspired me to try out the higher ISO settings on my new D200 now! Tfs, John.
