| Some minor cropping, highlighting, and a B&W filter are it for the editing. I walk by this set of stairs every day, but it particularly struck me this certain time, so I set up for a snapshot of them. I love the simplicity of the picture, I often look at this one when I want to think about my late great grandmother. It reminds me of stories she used to tell me about growing up in the Great Depression. C&C's are always welcome. |

Good picture. I like the texture. What are the white stripes on the stairs? Paint? It is hard to tell because it looks overexposed.

Pictures with emotional thoughts or pictures that have feelings that come from the heart are some of the best ones.
I really like the tones/color saturation. It is old looking, kind of to match with the age of the steps.
However, I feel that it is extremely too sharp, and there are two distracting things..
1- the cut/angle thing in the left upper side of the shot.
2- the pipe sticking out on the right lower side of the shot.
To get these distractions out of the shot it would be simple- you could either clone it out, crop the upper part of the picture, and also just copy a sample of the concrete and paste it on the part where the pipe is.
