There are places in Texas where there is nothing! No fences, no wires, very few houses etc. But it sure makes for a clear view of the sun when it sets. This was taken in the car, of course, I'm NOT driving.... I just aimed my camera out the window and took the shot. I love how this looks. Cameras are amazing tools, they can do things our eyes can't.

I leave to go back to Houston sometime today. It's windy and cold here, but sunny! I got some shots yesterday, but the wind about blew me away. I wanted to try some multiple exposures for some HDR work BUT, everything is moving! Trees, grass....it's so windy, gusting too 40mph that it just would not look good, so I've just taken a bunch of single exposures. B-(

Hope you all have a great Sunday and to the Kiwi girls, a great Monday!
B-)

Hi Linda,
Gorgeous sunset composition, I like the idea very much that the the sun is behind the trees, partially covered by the branches. The warm tones of the image and the panoramic crop look great.
Have a nice Sunday!

Hi Linda

Yes, I've also got some surprisingly good, sharp, shots, by setting the shutter speed to 1000th second, & opening up the aperture to f2.2

Good sharpness & superb sunset colors. Tfs!

Ciao Linda, nice have you as neighbour, splenmdid sunset with fantastic colors, fascinating composition, wonderful slilhouettes of trees, very well done, have a good Sunday, ciao Silvio

HI Linda...this is nice...great tones on the background and nice sharp sillouetting. I am going to Taiwan in a few weeks...I hope to get some shots like this when I am there....I will use your shots as examples of what to shoot for.

Linda,

This is an incredible shot - not only is the composition very nice and colors tremendous, it's incredible it doesn't have any blur at all being shot from a speeding car. That high shutter speed really helped. Congratulations!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Linda,
romantic shot today, the motive is beautiful.
I'm a little sad right now - just coming from TrekNature - so many members there quit right now and deleted all photos.
All because of the terms - everybody worries about the shots that they could be sold ...
I can't understand that spectacle and I hope you will not leave!
Greetings
Sabine - wishnugaruda

Hello Linda,

Ha ha time so short - then shot and you got it Linda!!!
1/1600 works here perfectly.
This purple at horizon!!! - I love it, good work as from moving car...
Cheers - Tom:)

Hi Linda,
70mph? Well with 1/1600 not a bad result at all. Fine warm colours and I like the bit bluish glow at the horizon. Great sunset picture, I really enjoy this wonderful view!

Wow Linda! This look like "out of Africa". Really a neat shot. Love the red of the sky. That sun ball is awesome! Great exposure Linda.

Windy and "snowy" this afternoon in Atlanta. Loved watching the snow fall.

Thanks Linda - yes it has been a super Monday down in KiwiLand, thank you. Sunny, no wind or rain either.
But no beautiful sunsets like this - the yellow ball in a sky of fire. How wonderful to see, especially between those two trees.
Now, drive home safely.
Take care and kia ora

hi dearest,
how do you do it?
even from a speeding car you can get a beautiful image like this.
most people would be lucky to take this from a standing position with their camera on a tripod.

i suppose for some it is a gift, for others it is luck.
you, my dear, have a gift.

ps.
what's so special about the 'kiwi' girls?
what abot us 'jock' guys? ;-)

hugs,
Brian

Hello Linda,

The sun will never set in this story!
It has been captured as an illuminated apple to light the boughs of the tree forever - wouldn't it make a good story!

Very well composed with silhouetted images and wonderful, rich, warm colour tones in the sky.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Linda,
Wonderful silhuet capture and composition; I love specialy the clear circle of sun, very sharp, almost hidden behind the tree, and the amazing light reminding the great african safari's sunsets.
Best regards, mb

Pretty amazing image for a shot out of a car Linda!
Wow, the composition is just elegant and artistic.
Wonderful experiment with superior results.
