Here is something else from the train yard. I wanted this to look old and worn, like it has been carried in the pocket of a hobo who has been riding the rails.

This was one heck of a transformation. I will try to list as much of my processing as I can remember...

-crop
-adjusr contrast
-graditnt map w/ blended overlay
-grain
-duplicate image
-darken one image
-crop other image with cookie-cutter shape featherd 10% (I think)
-copy and paste the cropped image onto darkened duplicate
-more grain
-added border

I will post the original, so you can see.

Sorry this is so small. I resized it to 640 across instead of 800. Another site I post to has 640 as max. This looks much better at 800. Maybe I can post the bigger size to a workshop? Let's see.

Hi Amy,
I love how you made this look old, but kept the color.
Thank you for posting the workshop so I could see what you started with. I have started playing with PS and this is so helpful for me!
Love it,
Hannah

You diod a fantastic job and achieved perfectly what you wanted, you clearly find so much joy in all this, thanx, (*_*)

very cool. Doesn't look like a digital photo at all. Your post processing is excellent. Nice job. JP

Very cool.. I like it. Very unique PP work that has created an image that not only looks like it was with older equipment, but also not photoshopped.

Great job!

wow, wonderful pp work on this one Amy, well done!! I am amazed at the deal after your crop. I like how tight you made your capture.

Hi Amy,

Clearly a lot of work went into this. Good to see the original too.

Thanks for your very kind comment in our guestbook and for visiting our website :-)
All the best,
Paul

Very good PP work, Amy! You created a very intense picture, so far from the original! You got some very nice yellows, and the patch of red in the left corner is perfect. Great job!

Hi Amy,
Nice shot. Good pp work, once again. Really does look aged and filthy dirty. ;) The colors also remind me a bit of an old postcard (or those retro throw-backs).
Well done.
Richard

Amazing PP work, Amy. I am truly jealous of your ability to transform simple image into creative piece of art. This is one is just great and you have truly succeeded with the old look feel and I agree with Richard that it looks like one of these old postcard. Excellent!

What a terrific post processing job you did. It doesnt look as if you have manipulated it at all. I totally agree with Magda, that you enjoy this thoroughly and it shows in your images. TFS.

Cool shot Amy !!
Bravo (*_*)
