Well my daughter left for college this morning at 5AM and it's raining here, pouring, thundering, lightening and I'm worried sick but I can't do a thing about it, so I have to give it up to God and hope she makes it fine.
This shot was taken Tuesday on her campus, in the pouring rain. She and I had taken cover under a gazebo and just waited it out. The pic, of course isn't super sharp because it was raining, but I liked the mood of it. Which matches my mood.... I added in some noise.
I converted from RAW, then colorized to Sepia and did some levels.
Hope you like it! Maybe soon my mood will go back to color.
B-)
Linda

It is so hard to see our children leave home, Linda
This one is tough, I know
I love the mood here -- it fits with your feelings
And the composition is perfect - your subject is nicely placed and very clear

Is this considerd sepia? It looks like it has green tones, almost like alot of Teresat's images.

I like it! I think it would be cool if there was a way to get this in camera, but its probobly better to do it in CS3 anyway.

I love how its kinda grainy and low-fi. Really cool. Ive been digging the old-school look lately.

Nice job linda

Hi Linda,
How I like this photo! So accorded with your mood!
You composed finely the image. I like the arch of trees and this man just in the right place!
Excellent PP work enhancing the atmosphere!
Bravo, life goes by!
Annie

Hi Linda,
Great shot here, I like the softness that the rain has given to this one, I like how the path leads through the trees to the guy with the brolly, the black and white works well for this.
I am sure Shelby will be fine and have a great time at college.
I hope you come back to the colour world soon.
Regards Andy

LOL!! It's all for the best for her. And I'm sure she'll be still close to you in her mind.
Excellent composition with the man walking away.
Perfect representation of what you are living and your mood.

A great picture showing how you're feeling, but the sun WILL shine again :) I love all of your rainy day shots, in fact, now when it rains I think of you. Thank you!

Hi Linda,

This is a terrific mood shown. I really enjoy the rain as I find it soothing. I like how you have used the trees as a natural frame.

Also, the person seems to convey your feeling of her being all alone on the campus, when in actuality...she won't be alone.

Hi Linda

I like the low key tones in this superb b&w shot. The solitary person with the umbrella adds a welcome human element. Congratulations!

Hi Linder-
Many of my friends are sending the kids off this week. This is a great display of the mood felt by parents. Well done and TFS Julie

So very atmospheric Linda, The darkness of the foreground trees, and then the hint of brighter things to come in the back ground, very nice indeed.

Thanks
Gil

Your PP work has produced a very slight watercolour effect Linda. Nicely composed with good tones and light,
David

The dimmed light, the man leaving the 'frame' and the softness - I love the mood of this B&W that really fits your feeling you had described. She will be fine, Linda.

A very strong composition that depicted feeling and emotion.

Regards,
Ramdan.
