[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I slept late...so what? HAHA! First and foremost my SINCEREST apologies to Lisa, who hates buggies. This one is nasty! One of those horrible biting horse flies! UGH! He landed near me and I got all squirrely until the photographer in me kicked in!
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all!
B-)

Hi Linda,
You know how to please fathers with such a creep.
Well to be honest it's not one of your best pictures, a lot of green, a tighter crop would have improved the composition in my opinion. The relative small bug is "drawing" in the green ocean. Please don't shoot me...
Hans

Hi, Linda -
Although I don't know what this says about fathers, I sure like this image! The details of this icky guy are really sharp and clear, while the leaf in the background with the sparkling highlights is perfectly blurred to compliment the composition. You are brave! Nice image.

Linda I originally did not notice who took this as it just caught my attention in the gallery.
I see it a little different from Hans, although I understand his pov ... I find that the composition with the bg helps create a very defined 3d effect which might not otherwise occur with a tighter crop.
Now I have a chance to see one of these face to face and still have all my skin ...lol

hi linda.
that sure is one ugly S.O.B

Once again you have used the macro to great effect.
excellent detail as usual.

don't worry about hans, he had a pop at my pics for being 'too blue'.

well spotted.
hugs,
Brian.

Hi Linda,
What an interesting looking creature! Would hate to feel this crawling along my neck, lol. Nice colours, the focus is great also. Well spotted!

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Linda,
A funny presentation of this "robber fly" ready to attack:)
Perfectly captured by you with neat details and fine POV.
TFS and cheers,

Hi Linda

Looks like a mosquito. When I think of horseflies in Australia (& also in Mongolia), this horrid image comes to mind.

Check out the other 9 candidates for the top 10 nasties!

Hello Linda,

This is what is so good about photography, it makes everything in the world, no matter how squirmy, become a thing of interest. We actually SEE things, not just look at them!
I love your attitude!
To Mrs. Horsefly, he will be a thing of great beauty!

I like the sharp details of the fly and the way you have used the dof to create an interesting context.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Ciao Linda, great capture of ugly monster, fine details and wonderful sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio
