[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Last night Dave and I went to dinner, ran some errands and found ourselves out eating frozen Yogart.

As we headed home I saw the unmistakable glow of fire. And it was raging. We are under a severe drought and high winds. But idiots will be idiots and there was so many fireworks going off it looked like a war zone.

I had Dave drive me as close as he could, as the road was blocked by then by police and firemen. I ran the 1/4 mile the rest of the way. I remember thinking.."I'm running...how strange"...HAHA!
This is the result. I spend till 12:30 this morning sending the photos out to news organizations.
Hope you like it!
B-)

Hi Linda,
Very dramatic and, certainly a new photo feel. Good control of contrast and color and the silhouette of the fireman and hose is great.
Hopefully nothing, or no one, got damaged or injured.
Very nice work.
Thanks,
Wilt

Wow.
NBC here we come Linda.

It's a shame such a good photograph was taken due to the circumstances however.
A brilliant shot made possible by (Dare i say stupidity)?

Hope your efforts were worth the run.

well done,

Martin

Hi Linda

Luckily, my part of Australia almost never has this kind of wildfire. But Victoria (which has summers similar to California), can & does have particularly bad wildfires, & almost every 2nd or 3rd year. I'm glad you're okay. It must have been terrifying. A dramatic catch, with good sharpness, color & contrasted light. Tfs!

Ciao..spettacolare foto,
sottolinea in modo spaventoso
il lavoro dei pompieri
difronte a questo fuoco
che sembra interminabile!!
Complimenti
Alessia

Hi Linda,

Very well seen. Great shot, the silhouette of the fireman shows the action well. I would have run, too! Did you get anything on the news sites?

Have a great Sunday!
Reed

Hi Linda,
Awesome shot!! I love the silhouetted fireman in front of the blaze. They say a good photographer always has a camera with them, you prove this to be true. I hope the news stations use this shot, it's a great one.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Linda,
Fantastic shot of this silhouetted firefighter, nicely framed in shot you should get a fair bit of credit from the media organisations for this shot. TFS
Bri

hello linda

wonderful tribute on the firemen doing eavy work and often dangerous, fire is a force terrible and devastating that some idiots better not in theirs hands have, is fatal for innocent
great warm picture

Hi Linda,
I told you so not to smoke outside!
Great action picture, the silhouette of the fire fighter is well shown against the raging fire. Superb "warm" colours (or should I write "hot") Anyway great posting of today.
Hans

It's very dramatic documentary photo, Linda! You perfectly controlled light and colours here. It's really great composition.
Regards, Ewa

Wow, Linda - you were very brave and worked hard to get this shot, and it really paid off. You've really managed to convey the hellish heat of this fire, and the silhouette of this firefighter in action is prize-winning stuff. Very, very impressive.

Excellent capture Linda,
the silhouette of the fireman is well positioned in the frame and the colours are quite spectacular - these guys do a great job
cheers
Jack

Linda,

Oh my gosh!! ARE YOU NUTS?? Fire chaser!! Linda, the resulting photo is absolutely dramatic and spectacular, but don't put yourself at risk for "the shot". Amazing silhouette of the fireman and the hot fire is unreal! I'm sure firefighters would like to see this one (but you'll probably get a good tongue lashing for getting so close).

:) Lisa

hi linda wow cool shot, excellent composition and colors, hope every one was ok,
thanks scott
