[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken during a full lunar eclipse this evening. I regret that I couldn't wait and catch it later as the eclipse became full and turned the moon orange. This was one of my first serious attempts at photographing the moon. I basically used the digital zoom on the camera (I rarely use digital zoom), this gave me the optical zoom (10x) x 4 for (40x); I used a tripod and experimented with a lot of different shutter speeds, etc. I kept the f-stop on 8.0 which is the max my camera will go. I will post the original as a WS.

Post-processing: PSP8.0 - clarify, hue/sat/light, added frame

i really like the border on the photo, however, i'm not sure about the frame. this is nice - it was cloudy in little rock so i didn't get to see this...thanks for sharing it.

This is a spendid photo Stephen... You did a very good presentation with your nice frame. Well done...

It's nice to see this, I forgot all about it last night. Not to bad for a digital zoom, I've found that all digital zooms aren't created equal, some work ok but some work horrible, nice work.

Congratulations! I tried to get a shot but nothing came out as clear as this. Great framing too.

We had so many clouds, and couldn't see it.
You have done a marvelous job on doing this. The moon details are great, and so is the composition. The frame is very suitable for a moon shot. Well done, and thanks for letting me see what I missed last night.

beautiful!i didn't see it, to cloudy and couldn't get up that early( here it was between 3-7 after midnight) lol.
you've captured it very good and added a great frame.
good job!

i do one too but it never look like this. its realy clean and we can see all detail. Mine just look like white spot

I wouldn't have guessed that you used the digital zoom, Stephen. I like the framing - the edge of the image, the large white space... well done!

Very nice shot. The frame is just perfect for this picture. Nice details on the moon. I didn't know about the eclipse until it was over, I'm very disapointed. The next full one will be in 2007.

The capture is beautiful from a very special cosmos moment. Love it...maybe the border is «too much» for such a beautiful capture Stephen.
