[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I went on an early morning venture to look for photos this morning. The morning was absolutely gorgeous. This is actually the only picture I ended up taking (right before I left my house). I thought the one star above the dawn was beautiful. I hope you enjoy.

Both Mercury and Venus are both evening and morning stars. That is because they are nearer to the sun than the earth is, so they can never appear very far from the sun in the sky. In other words, when the sun sets in the evening they might be in the west, near the sun as an evening star. Or they could be in the morning sky before sunrise, again, near the sun. But neither Mercury nor Venus can be opposite the sun in the sky, such as rising at sunset. Hence, they are called the evening and morning stars. Actually, "evening star" or "morning star" nearly always refers to Venus, which is by far the brightest celestial object in the sky after the sun and moon. Mercury is much dimmer and only visible for a few weeks of the year.

Critiques [Translate]

I think this picture contains it all. Cold, Sharp, Bright, Dark, Stars, Sun, Earth and Space. Fantastic Stephen!

I think I'm going nuts here. I am very sure that I wrote a critique and gave a green smiley to this photo already. But somehow it never appeared on the gallery site. So I thought I'd check. And it's not here. I guess I must have forgotten to click the Add button before I left the page. :-) Anyway, I was saying that I love the colours and sharpness. The note was interesting, too. Excellent post, I couldn't agree with orbiter more. It _is_ fantastic. Thanks for posting.

The silhouettes of the bare trees break up the deep blues and gold colors of the morning sky nicely Stephen. Great note!

Absolutely beautiful - the scene and the foto. Lovely colors of the sky and clear sharp image. So nicely framed and the elements are balanced and just perfect.

Very informative note Stephen! And it goes hand in hand with a great shot. Next time I will see morning stars, I will take an extra look... Of course you had a great camera for the job... ;)

Very nice capture. I have thought of a shot like this, but never got up the courage to try it. Nice composition.
