Last week violent thunderstorms came through our area. The storms toppled a large tree in our back yard. This weekend I cut up the tree and had a huge pile of limbs and wood to burn. I used 5 gallons of diesel fuel to ignite this last night. I tried taking some pictures of the flames just to experiment. After playing with the post-processing, I was surprised to see faces, eyes, heads and all kinds of shapes in the flames. The more I looked the more I saw. The photo has a bit of an eerie feel to me. Everyone I've shown it to sees different things, but the one that stands out to me looks like a man with a beard standing in the center of the picture, blindfolded. What can you see?

Post-processing: Let's start with the original from the camera (click here). I used the flood filter to add the water and clarified twice. I then used Effects/Reflection Effects/Rotating Mirror to achieve final effect. Added a frame

I think this went well for an experiment. I can deffinetly see the bearded man in the middle of the shot. Can you see what sort of looks like some kind of a mask directly above the bearded man? Very well done.

I see a giant spider about to take a plunge in the sea of fire. Looks like a final scene in Spiderman.

Anyway, it is a very good work you've done here. I also like the original.

Excellent and spooky too.

Hello Stephen,
what a fantastic pp work you did here!! After checking the original shot I'm really amazed. You certainly created a completly different world, full of faces and expressions, bodies, aliens.. (maybe is my imagination.. too much sci-fi!!).
The mirror effect is always full of strange worlds waiting just to be discovered!!
Congrats!!!
Marisa

i see the man too....creepy and eerie....great work!
