[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello all,

I've been so busy lately, no time for pictures. The cicadas (locusts) are really out in numbers now. We found this one on a tire. If you look closely you can see the old skin he just shed underneath him. I love the structure and color of his/her wings. I'll post a side shot tomorrow. Good to be back.

Regards,
Stephen

Wow amazing photo! Did you do anything to the photo? I mean, colours and all...

I did not know that others had the joy of the cicada concert on hot summer nights. They are a very unique and special insect species.. nicely captured.

Great Stepen. Your macros are really good. Those wings are incredible. Really well done.

Very nice photo. I like the texture of the wings, main subject is sharp.

I had to read your comment to figure out the tire.

Excellent shot! I really like the bold colours on this cicada, I can almost hear him/her chirping as I type. DOF is excellent, I really like the way you've managed to keep the wings and eyes in focus without any other distracting elements. My only thoughts are about the framing, make a little more centred and at a diagonal would make it feel a little more dynamic? Anyway, great work :-D

This is a cool shot, well done. I always thought cicadas a dull brown. Didn't know they are techno green. But no matter how lovely they look, i am still afraid of insects. ahhahahah..

Very, very cool. I love the vibrant colours on this. A crisp macro image. Well done!

Superbe... (i will come back to it). Bye.

Great shot Stephen. The wings look unreal in their clarity, when I first saw it I thought it was heavily post processed to reach that effect, but after reading your note i realized that they were "brand new" wings - hence their undamaged look. Looking forward to the side shot.

Stephen, I love how you show this looking down on the cicada and showing his magnificent wings. Great capture, thank you.
