[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the same cicada from the shot I posted yesterday, just a different angle. He must have just crawled out of his old shell. I've found thousands of these discarded shells over the years, but this was the first time I ever found the cicada actually in the process of leaving it :-)

Fabulous shot Stephen, and I think maybe you should be known now for your entemology photography! You are quite good, hope all is well with you these days! Great work as always!

Hi Stepehn

Good to see you again. Hope you are doing fine :).

Wow, just to get to see something like this. Talk about being at the right place at the right moment. Great capture. Thanks for sharing. Now i'm gonna go and look at yesterdays post ;)

Very cool! DOF, exposure, R/O 3rds, sharpness are all wonderful! But of course I wouldn't expect anything less from a professional as yourself :)

This photo demonstrates what photography really is for me. A freeze frame, captured forever, of the moments of life in our world that go unnoticed by the multitudes on their hurried way. The photographer's heart thru his eyes provide the view for those less fortunate who missed it the first time around...

Goes directly to favourites! Hard to believe he ever fitted in the old skin... Isn't nature beautiful?

I definitely prefer this shot over the one you posted yesterday, Stephen, especially the limited DOF which makes parts of the wings blurry. Truly a picture to be jealous of!

A great capture.
Excellent composition,details and colour.
Very well done.

Excellent work Stephen. Superb timing. This must be a very rare shot and I am sure there would be interest from geographical publications. Very well done.

Very beautiful and rare moment you have here. This is a first for me, great work!

I really like this close up. I can't get over how shiny the black eye is.

cool
what timing
still i have never seen any "emerging"
good educational shot
did you use shallow dof
or post process to achieve the balance of blur and focus

Wow! That is a good shot. It's a bit spooky too at first look, sent a chill down my spine. The sharpness and clarity of the subject is great, the background is nice and the foreground detail just detailed enough and just blurred enough is wonderfull. Great shot.
Ravi.
