This old cow skull hangs on a post in the barn behind my house. This was another experiment in Heavy post-processing. You can see the original here.

Post-processing: PSP 8.0 - Auto photo-fix; clarify; USM; NeatImage; back into PSP 8.0; multiple clarifies to get the strong constrast; added a frame.

It's amazing what you can do with the pp Stepehen. This is really good. As Manny sad, I like the brow and black colours here. Great job.

Hello Sthepen.

Wow!, great work and excellent result in sepia. The reflection of the light in this tone prints in the image an I magnify special touch

Not much to add to what already has been said on this shot of yours, Stephen. Again you're showing a masterful example of post-processing making a piece of art out of an already very interesting photograph. You got a fine black & brown shot that really seems to emanate a "Wild West" kind of feel. Well done.

good work! there is a little something here that makes me think of Dali.

Excellent PP, and a wonderful shot. The clarify too highlights the texture of the skull and reduce the color of the background. It alsio gives a great depth to your image. Very well done. Stephen, good job.

Hi Stephen, great post processing. It gave the picture the right old western looking touch :) Dead centered position works well if you want to present a single object. Thanks for sharing also how you did the post processing :) Yours, Jan

Very nice job with p-processing. I viewed the original and while it is good I think this one is much more artistic, well donel.

You have done a very good job in the post processing, Stephen! Amazing result, bringing so much artful look to the picture. I like the soft magenda as it avoids the distracting form the colours, and the outlines better the details lovely details. Great one!

This composition you have chosen is wonderful. You placed the lense in such a perfect place that your resulting cropping and your postprocessing, you have created music for the eyes. The roof creates such forceful diangonals that the subliminal triangle left behind seems to jab the attention of the view right smack in the middle of the frame, where you have chosen to portray a sort of reminder of death. On the right of the frame one sees the dark barren interior, however, on the left the life of the trees and the light. Very powerful image on so many levels. When the cliché "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words" is considered; yours is definately worthy! :D

Great post pro Stephen. Something in between Dali's weird dreams for the somehow morbid theme and compo and Dürer realistic charcoal drawings for the tones.

Great pp work. I really like how the cracks and texture on the skull are more clearly defined with the pp you have done.

hi stephen,
it's really an eye-catching pic, well done PP. the light is also nice, the subject is well composed, well chosen title after all.
