[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another shot from the bunch of day lilies that I bought my wife.

I found this bud and tried a few exposures using my studio set-up, but was not satisfied with the outcome. I then just switched to using my flashgun off camera. I hand-held the flash above and to the left of the flower with one hand while I pressed the shutter release with the other hand.

I took this image over to Adobe Bridge and adjusted the exposure and contrast. Then I took it to Photoshop where I removed an encroaching petal with the clone stamp tool, added a contrast layer, and layer masked that to emphasize the stem while leaving the bud untouched.

I tried another shot by painting with light using a small flashlight that was laying around. I'll post that as a workshop.

Hi Scott

I love this one too, the detail is superb and so is the lighting.

Keep up the great work

Hi Scott
I'm not sure which shot I like more! They both look great! The details are really wonderful
