| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken in the same location as this shot, though at a different time.
I organized a local photo group and contacted that theatre to arrange a shoot inside. I was overjoyed when they granted us complete, unfettered access to the building after hours one night.
This building is in a constant, yet varied, state of renovation. It is run by a local non-profit organization, so funds are tight. Even though it may be a distraction to theatre-goers, it's a treasure-trove for photographers. I love the 1920s architecture combine with the weathering. So many details, I couldn't shoot everything I wanted.
See skotsshots.com for more photos from this shoot.
As with all of my architectural shots, I used a tripod and remote release to eliminate any camera-shake.
This particular shot is a very light HDR. I only used it to tone down the lights. In the "optimal exposure" the lights were blown-out and distracting, so I shot another frame with -2 EV and merged the two. Other than that, this is straight out of the camera.
I hope you like it, but please critique honestly, I can take the criticism.

This is cool Skot! I love old stuff, textures, buildings etc. This has a nice patina to it. You managed the light real well here. Nice to place the lights off center, the curve is real nice here! HDR is fun isn't it?

I love the juxtaposition between the worn textured BG and the shiny smooth chandelier. Do you have another shot that shows more of the scene (not so tight on the subj.)?
