This is Ethan...about 2 years old in this picture. He is the son of my friend Sarah.
My roommate and I were babysitting him, this was taken right after his mom left...I think he realized that she wasn't coming back for a while. He was sitting on the couch staring out the window with this sad child-like, yet grown up look on his face. I said his name and he looked at me, that's when I took this photo.

Originally shot in color. I duplicated the image. Converted the original version to grayscale, then back to RGB. I Selected only the eyes on the color version (new duplicated image)and copied them onto the new B&W (Screen, for layer mode). Erased all the extra around the eyes and added about +10 saturation.
I will post the original as a workshop tomorrow(I've already reached my WS limit today)

What adorable expression :))) and your post process is wonderful too Stacey. Delicious :)

Magnifiques yeux bleus, magnifique regard. C'est un très joli portrait Stacey. Nice work.

Hi Stacey!

This is a priceless photo. The cropping of the image and the post processing done are great. They helped draw my attention to Ethan's eyes. Regards!

Quite rare to see a portrait of such a small child taken from below. We tend to look down at them, you let him look down at you. Gives one a funny feeling as impartial viewer. You could actually have quoted Wordsworth and called this shot "Child is father to the man". He sure looks it.

You have done excellent work at the eyes! And the B&W tones are excellent! Very good job!

I love the blue eyes and the matching blue line in the frame.
Children have many times expressions they will never have again once grown up...
Nice, the desaturated face around the blue eyes. Makes them stand out.

very beautiful picture!he has beautiful eyes, did he know that? ;o)
like Lorie said, this is priceless.i realy like the expresion you've captured.

What a nice picture Stacey. With your work in black&white, one can better see the marvelous color of his blue eyes.
Good work you done...

Oh Stacey, this is so cute ... You did a wonderful job ! I saw the original and the cropping you did for this version is perfect. I guess Sarah wants a printed version of this beautiful picture of her son .... Congratulations !

What a beautiful child. And oh, those stunning eyes! Excellent shot, Stacey. A real winner... :O)

Beautiful capture Stacy, well cropped and post processed

Very good portrait! I like the close framing and the touch of colour around the eyes are beautiful. Cheers!

Beautiful, Stacey...

These are such great portraits and PP,
you did a great job for both pictures, really nice !

The low angle gives this compositon a great impact on the eyes. You certainly know how to capture the right moment. Wonderful job on the desaturation/saturation. The mother will be proud of this. I know I would be.
Very well done, Stacey.

I really like this picture. The effect of the blue eyes with the B&W face is really nice.

What a great job capturing this guys aditude, and what an additude for such a young kid. I like how he is looking straight into the camera like he's not one bit afraid and also how the left side of his face is cut off, good border.
