JAMES WISHART House
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Wishart - Boush House, also known as JAMES WISHART House was built in 1660 and is southeast of Lynnhaven Colony in what's now the BROAD BAY Colony of Virginia Beach.
The Wishart House is an extraordinary survival of seventeenth-century medieval design and has remained relatively untouched by time. The historic house is open to the public and operated by the City of Virginia Beach.
This was one very nice and really bright sunny day… If I had a tripod it would have been easy to bracket this shot… But I didn’t have it so I did it in PhotoShop… Made a copy and lighten the brightness and contrast of one, then put it behind the darker one… Then it was just a matter of using the eraser tool to lighten up the really dark areas and bring out the details… Then correct for the perspective distortion cause by a wide-angle lens, cropped, resized and added a border for TrekLens.
Your comments and critiques are always welcome. |

Hi Denny,
Nice shot. Well composed, has alot more of an effect than a side on view of this house. It looks a tiny bit un-sharp in places but bricks aren't exactly the easiest thing to photograph. Great lighting and colours.
TFS,
Scott.

Hi Denny,
A very nice composition I like the shadows that are on the front of the house and the bricks look great. The colours are good and there are some very nice shades and textures well done.
Regards
Jon
Great compositon and POV. Nice detail in the bricks. Wonderful lighting and contrast. Thanks for the notes. Well done!!
Hello Denny,
it is so beautiful! Why the doors are raised from the ground? There were marshes here? A very well choosen POV.
