[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, a Virginia Beach photo taken from Lynnhaven Inlet looking west. The sun sets just far enough north for a few weeks each summer that it creates an opportunity to capture sunsets like this one.

There is a lot of compression in the image, though it is not evident. The bridge is more than one mile from the camera position, but a 500mm F/8 Reflex lens on a Minolta Maxxum 7000 produced what remains today as one of my best sellers. Even though this was shot with 35mm, I've been able to scan the negative and reproduce this in a 68" width for customers that insist it be part of their purchase. I get that giant size by using ImagePrint software RIP (works similar to Genuine Fractals) and the Epson 9800 K3 Ultrachrome printer. As for the 500mm reflex lens - sold it long ago - this is the one great photo (IMHO) that I obtained with that lens. This is a limited edition photograph, please respect the copyright. great photo here... I like the elements... very nice... great colors too....

The deep dark colors are fantastic in this image. The composition of the sunset is stunning and the exposure is perfect. Your note is fantastic and gives great background information about the image. TFS

This is indeed one of the most intriguing photo that i have ever seen. The sun stting down at the horizon is beautiful. However I find that your explanation of the techniques from a use of 500 mm lens and a 35 mm lens is a little confusing. Do you mean that this ohoto was shot with a 500 mm lens on slide. Thereafter you took a shot of the slide with a 35mm lens and produce a digital image of what it is?
Be that as it may, this photo has the impact of " WOW". Thanks for sharing.

Regards

Tony
