Can you tell what this is or what he's doing? Some of you might even be able to tell who this is...if you look close enough. I was bored on my day off and decided to play around with a photo I had taken yesterday. So I thought about making this. I'm really just trying out different blend modes and opacity's in PS7.

How I Did It________________________
I took the original color image and turned it B&W. Added a Curve Adjustment layer increasing the contrast. I made a gradient layer in "overlay mode" from red to blue diagnally L-R. Then I made 2 more adjustment layers, Hue&Saturation and Curves linking them with the gradient layer. I then duplicated the first layer and sharpened it A LOT, took the eraser and got rid of the areas that I didn't want sharpened (i.e. everything but the lights & faces). And finally for the frame I used a stroke w/"Gradient" fill type and "Hard Light" blend mode.

I will post the original as a workshop after a few days to show the differences between this and the original.

~~~~~UPDATE~~~~~~~
Well, you all were close with the guess of D.J., but you did get the CD reflection right (guess I'll have to try harder to fool you next time :) This is one of my coworkers. We were playing around with timed exposures with all our video editing equipment at work the other day. He is working on a machine called "infiniti" (I'm actually not sure of the spelling) using it to edit a Navy retirement video. The light on his face is from the monitor he is looking at to the right of me. I have the camera setting on the desk. Thanks for noticing the reflection on the CD strategically placed in front of me. It was very difficult to get it perfect! Thank you all for playing :)
At last....! A new one from you!
Seems a DJ to me, but I cannot tell which one... I am not into DJ/Techno/House/Rock stuff so much. But as I am into photography, I think I am able to tell your PP work is of an outstanding level... you're a DJ of the Photoshop ;)
As you don't seem mention it as being artificial, I think the reflection of his face is in your original too. Is it reflected in a CD? This is well done, quite a piece of art! Congratulations!
see the workshop while i write something
there seems to be a deep psychological meaning behind this shot. i think this really good looking man is just a figment of your imagination, perhaps something like the perfect man for you.someone who you want to be like, someone you want to look upto your whole life. perhaps for you he personifies 'perfection'. i feel that he is your sort of alterego.
he must be the good hehehhe
look at his sad eyes.... there seems to be so much depth in them, so much sanity... so much knowledge..
his wizened face shows his temperament.
only one thing about him confuses me. why the hell does he look so bored???????
maybe after reading this note you should try and harness the evil in you before it kills me hehe :)
take care :)
p.s. don't tell me this is where you work!!!!!
and rizzzzz dont get so happy, i was just kidding hehehe :)
p.s. again: forgot to mention that this is a great photograph.. i will ask you the technical details later on :)
Excellent idea to flīp the picture, Stacey.
I like the colour effects you applied. Excellent note too. TFS.
Fantastic! Hey Mr. DJ, spin that record one more time! The composition is excellent (you did an especially good job of capturing his reflection on the vinyl (or did you just put it there?). Flipping the shot is genious.
A very successful experiment with PS. I realise how much I have to learn when I look at this. Cheers!
I sometimes wonder how you come up with these creative ideas. I like this one a lot. Just the concept and the way you have manipulated it post processing is wonderful.
Is that really a reflection from a CD. I've been trying to figure it out.
I see I am way to late to play the game. All has been revealed. So I guess there is nothing left for me to say - except maybe that I find the original very interesting and worth posting in its own right. I sure wouldn't have made it to all that PP work if I had had an intriguing shot like that to begin with. His concentration is a tribute to whatever he's doing - and in fact he looks like a lot of computer freaks I know when they're glued to a screen in the middle of some creative process. Good show.
