True life story, George and Joy Adamson (Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna) live in the wilderness in Kenya. In self defense, George kills a lion and his mate only to find they were protecting their three cubs. He and his wife decide to raise the cubs. They give two of them away to zoos, but can't part with Elsa, a lioness. But then they realize they can't keep her and don't want to put her in a zoo. Can they help her live in the wild?
Read the book "Born Free"
Looking at this lion, King of the beasts, I wonder, was he born to be free or kept in captivities to entertain and amuse us????
This is Mramba, he weighs in at 364 pounds, and has a laid back nature.
Just to me, on this and other visits here to the Norfolk Zoo, Mramba looks sad and bored… All we ever see him do is lay there on his hill and sleep in the sun….

Hi den,

I don't know about being born in captivity but look at his face he's not to wild about being there. The lion is known as the king of beasts but it is the lioness that does most of the work. We should not be keeping any wild animal captive except to save the species imo. The pov is excellent the colours are brilliant and the details extremely crisp I like the frame as well tfs.

Regards
Jon

I agree with Jon. You have done another exellent job with the framing of this image. I believe George and Joy gave up their acting careers to start tthe Born Free Foundation. Another good film you will see George in, if I remember rightly, is 'Ring of Bright Water' about the Otters.
