This photograph probably shouldn't look as good as it does. This is one of those "in the right place at the right time" images. A 100-300mm EF L lens with a 2X Extender put me really close! The lens combo, flash and diffuser all came together and left me enough time to grab about three frames before the bird got freaked by the flash.
The soft box on a 580EX diffused the light perfectly and illuminated the feathers to produce a photograph that stops traffic at my art shows.
Shot with 21 MP camera, printed as a 36 x24 inch photo it is sharp and colorful. Comments welcome! |
