June Creek Landing is the first place I stop when I go to Wateree. It's a beautiful spot and often I see herons and egrets and other wading birds. (In fact, if you have better eyes than I, there is a heron sitting on the roof of that far boatdock). I had stopped there when it was clouded over and was somewhat uninspired. But when the sun came out I was over by the state park and then stopped again on my way back by. I wasn't disappointed. As I have mentioned - the trees haven't peaked here yet, so there are spots of colour, just not any breathtaking views. That evening light was strange following all those clouds, but I sure enjoyed it. Hope you do, too.

Hi Shelly,

I really like the light here, and the way it's bringing out the colour of the trees. Great composition and point of view. The heron on the roof makes for a nice find.

Nice location and great time for the shot The colours and lighting are great I do not like the clump of grass sticking up however It spoils it a little for me
warm regards
David

Shelly,
Beautiful colors, that are brought alive by the sun light. The composition is well balanced and has a nice DOF.
Congratulations,

Wellington

Hi Shelly,

I like this scenic fall shot of the creek. I'm glad you mentioned the heron, I don't think I would have spotted it otherwise. If I were there, I'd probably be spending a lot of time trying to get a good close-up shot of the heron.

Your POV is very good. Although the clump of grass is somewhat distracting, I don't see a way to avoid it and still get the same perspective. TFS.

Warm regards,
Werner

Another beautiful photo, Shelly.
I do see the heron on the roof of the boatdock. I really like the way the sun shined on the boats and love the reflection which you captured.
Best regards

Hi Shelly, I like the autumn colours and tones you have captured in this image of tranquility. The photo is well composed with good balance throughout. It seems a great spot to go to enjoy South Carolina. TFS. Murray.

Hi Shelly

Great evening lighting which creates nice highlights on these autumnal trees!
The blue tone of background sky really added to its beauty
The sharpness is good, and the small waves of the lake...

Beautiful shot Shelly. Your timing was right on, with the sun poking out through an a cloudy sky. I just love the light on the trees and on those boats ... and especially the shimmering reflection in the water. Really nice job
Have a nice weekend

Hi Shelly
The time of day when colors really show up, and you certainly have accomplished this in this shot as the colors are awesome, the reflections and the details show up well.
I like the results.

Hi Shelly,
I like your choice of POV.I like the grasses in the foreground, being used as a frame, to show off those reflections, boats & colourful trees. This location looks great now,it must be over run with people during the summer months. I see the heron, he was not your subject so is not that detailed & that's Ok it's the capture of colours & reflections that do it for me.

Hi Shelly,
What a beautiful and serene atmosphere in this photo!
This evening light renders some beautiful smooth colors on the trees and nice reflection in wate. Very good composition, the bush in foregorund gives a nice "plus" at the depth.
Very beautifully done! Annie
