The Mendenhall Glacier
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Our second port of call on our cruise of Alaska was Juneau, here we had a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier, followed by a whale watching trip on Auke Bay. The glacier was very impressive. The photo was taken from quite a distance from an observation platform and you can see some idea of the scale by the people in the foreground. We later visited this glacier again on our return to Juneau, but this time by helicopter with a landing on top of the glacier, that was exciting. |

Hi Joan - would love to visit this part of the world. You have managed to capture some of the scale, the sheer immensity of the glacier in this shot. Perhaps lacks a little bit of "pop" in terms of saturation especially in the greens, but then again it does look to have been a bit of a gloomy day!
Nice photo of an awe-inspiring place.
Hello Joan,
Thanks for sharing this nice foto of Mendelhall Gracier! It really is impressive. A good composition with the foreground people giving a good scale. This SLR photo is of course way better than the webcam image, which I have on my homepage's favorite cams.
Greetings,
Lasse

Hi Joan..I like this shot...you showed nicely the size of the glacier relative to the trees, people, etc...nicely composed with nice details.
