Another from the Sutherland hike. This is looking northwest from the trail.
PP:
-shot in RAW
-initial adjustments in Lightroom developer. Decreased exposure. Increased blacks slightly. Adjusted tonal curve for lights and shadows
-moved to CS3
-adjusted levels
-increased contrast, using linear preset in curves
-lightened foreground in curves, with a gradient mask
-sharpened
-cloned out some spots
-resized and USM |

This is a pleasant composition, with strong foreground interest!
The diagonal slope directs my eyes to the vast plains, I also notice the dark clouds above...

I like the compo you used here, David. Light, sharpness and DoF, technically a good shot. But sceneries like this always make me think "why no panoramic view here?"... Really, you should give it a go. Pack a tripod, camera on manual (every setting!), level out the tripod and take a couple of shots, overlapping about 25 % - 33 %. Then stitch them together and voilą, a new world will open up ;o).
Anyway, it's nice to look at as it is presented here too.

Do we not beleave in that.. to say it in Darwins words and we go back intime a few million years..
What ever we think.. its a pitty to see this on such small TL size!
