[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is one of the reflectors affixed along the center line of my street. It serves to help guide drivers when it is dark by reflecting the light of their headlights. Having lived in snow county most of my life, I found it interesting that they have such things in the roads here in California...no snow plowing issues:)

I stood out in the middle of the street, obviously, to take this shot. The sun was getting low and glaring on the edge of the reflector that is on the upper side in the image. I left the glare on purpose, in keeping with its purpose. The lettering is upside down on purpose too...perhaps you can figure out why:)

PP: cropped right side a bit to de-center, resized, added border.

Great theme idea and fitting to your artistic style Karen!
Well placed subject and excellent focus.
I like that the text is almost upside down,
because it de emphasizes it.
Well done.

Great, great macro image, Karen. Good sharpness reveals the textures of the tar and asphalt. Slightly off-center framing is a good idea. I like that the reflector is rotated into a diamond shape to contrast with the frame. I'm glad I saw this shot because it led me to look through your gallery, which is full of great abstract and macro shots. I love seeing the work of photographers who can look at objects that are typically mundane to most of us and see beyond the everyday to recognize something interesting and worth capturing. Well done.

Hello Karen...
I know, I know!!!!! if you where to rotate your position around the reflector you would have casted a shadow over it! (?)

Nice Idea.. Perfectly different for the theme!
I always wondered how they got those reflectors to stick!!

Karen, Living in the south, I am familiar with the reflectors. I've just never taken that close of a look at them as they are on very busy roads.

The sharp details of the reflector and road are great.

Nice, creative addition to the theme.

Lisa

something you would do, Karen. Imaginative.
best, janos

You made me laugh again. How in the world you came with this idea? And yes, is right there, in your street. Fantastic. I love it. TFS

Your reflectors are so nice and clean!! The ones in Houston have been run over 100 billion times by the 6 million people we have living here! HA!...This is nice, good off center post, nice expoure!
B-) B-)
Linda

Hehe, Karen, I must admit that your street looks somehow newer and neater than mine ;o).
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hiya Karen

Absolutely excellent ! A nice close POV on an article that we all see but dont see if that makes sense. Good sharp image with excellent colour and detail

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

Hi Karen:
A really interesting forensic study of a street reflector. I like the different texture from the rough asphalt to creamy tar and a raised reflector..... the colours look very halloweenish and reminds me of the last egg I fried and burnt.... I like it for its originality as well..... a really fun shot Karen...... thanks for showing Roman

Hola Karen,

Buena macro de este original objeto, los tonos y colores así como los detalles de esta imagen están perfectos. Buen trabajo.

Saludos,

Pako
