Pinwheel
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This shot was taken last August and I saved it for this year's Fourth of July. I'm a day late because of the Friday Theme, but no matter...it is still fun to see how this stars 'n stripes pinwheel was mounted on a motorized cart used on the docks where the USS Hornet is moored. Along with piles and stacks of ship paraphernalia and various kinds of heavy-duty dock equipment, this patriotic accessory caught my eye:) It's not a high quality shot and I tinkered with it a bit to spotlight the pinwheel. Just posting it today for a bit of celebration without fireworks:)
PP: I don't remember for sure but probably...adjusted contrast/saturation, applied soft omni light, resized, sharpened, added border. Actually, I've learned a lot since last summer, so could most likely do it better if I started over, but I've moved on to other things:)
BTW, posting my less than stellar shots often teaches me more than posting only the best ones. The tips and suggestions offered are the keys for improvements, so they are invited and welcome. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to explain how to do things differently and better...I do my best to put your feedback to good use. When I look at this image from a year ago, I can see and feel the difference. I still miss the boat from time to time, but usually they sail more easily these days:) |

Hi Karen,
Nice effect and show casing light where you want to be.. good try but focal point having exposed light..i know its very hard to control in this harsh light. well done.

Hi Karen
Like the last part of your note on this one. Tis interesting to go back and look at out first few posting to see what the journey has done.
Your right this one has some issues but it is very effective for the holiday.
I'm going to try fireworks for the first time at out local winery tonight. That will be out of the box.
Have a good weekend.
