| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This was my first practice image a while ago for the desaturation theme with one color featured. You'll notice I tried just a small color area for this exercise, Mollie's eyes, not knowing for sure how it would work:) In actuality, her eyes are not quite that blue so I boosted the saturation in the color layer so they would show up better amid the b&w tones. Mollie didn't notice...she was busy watching a butterfly:)
PP: standard RAW adjustments, duplicate layer desaturated, boosted color in original layer, brushed out duplicate layer over the eyes, resized, sharpened, added border. |

Hi Karen
Mollie would be a perfect subject for your Macro lens - use it as a portrait lens and your goal is to have the same content as this image- full size cat with stuff in front. Just back up a bit.
Like your experiment with the blue eye in the B & W image. Well captured.
Dan
Hi Karen: Perfect shot using B&W and the accent of blue on the eyes...... really draws attention to the cat ..thanks Roman:0)

Hi Karen.. not sure why you only got a couple of people leaving critques here, as this is really beautiful..amazing that 300 odd could look at it and not say anything.
You have done excellent work with the eyes.. so full marks for that, I like the light on the cat, and the tones are beautiful.. well done to you.. I do like this very much.
Regards
Dawn
