[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A while ago I was practicing with my macro lens and took some shots of a cut crystal wine glass. I used a light box behind the glass, draped with some silk fabric. Unfortunately, the weave of the fabric came out too strong and spoiled the effect I was hoping for. I decided to revisit the shots, though, to see what else could be done with them. A little experimentation resulted in this new interpretation:)

PP: standard RAW adjustments, CS3 artistic filters (plaster, watercolor) for the texture and color changes, cloned out some remnants of the fabric weave, added border, resized for TL.

Hello Karen, from the thumbnail it is easy to see that this is a crystal glass, and yet when opened up it appears to be much more abstract.
I like the pp work, it is very effective.
The light darkening from right to left is very good.
Tfs, regards Jean.

A very good result Karen with the original shapes and patterns highlighted nicely by the filters.Nice light and colour,
David

Hi Karen,

Excellent experimental work.
Contrats are so good. It's look like a gothic glasse.
Wonderful result.

Have a nice evening

Very interesting shot Karen. I can see you like playing with abstracts and you come up with inventive ways to mess around.

I think a significant addition to photo on a computer is that light comes through the image and it works especially well in a photo like this.

Cool.

Richard

Hi Karen:
A wonderful abstract design done masterfully as usual,I think the light gradient here really sets the whole composition off,a real pleasure to see..... thanks my friend....Roman:0)

Another really artistic shot, this one with a lot more obvious photographic appeal ;-)
It initially reminded me of spilt mercury, and even though I know what the subject is the more I look at it the more I find myself trying to find patterns - like a Rorschach inkblot test.
Thanks for sharing
Mark
