Succulent in Lavender
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This attractive succulent was sunbathing in a huge lavender planter in the outdoor studio garden of a resident sculptor. The garden was open to the public on Saturday as a feature of a local garden society. There were wonderful items of ceramic, metal, and wood sculture mixed in the garden setting, all artfully arranged.
PP: slight color saturation and adjustment of brightness to tone down the intense sunlight, framed, and resized.
5/30/06 update: Interestingly, this prints out much darker and richer than it shows on my work and home computer monitors. I looked at it on someone else's monitor, also, and it was more pale and washed out than I see it on either of mine. Hmmm... |

good focus here karen.. however, there seems to be something missing here.. it seems a bit monotonous, IMO there's no colour and too much shadow. the framing seems a little wrong too, there's too much nothing at either end of the pic. perhaps a small zoom out and pan the camera up a little to see the rest of the plant.. not sure..it's an interesting idea though...
Hi Karen,
I like this pretty flower and your composition emphasizes it well. I think however that the strong light makes too uniforme its colors which have many nuances naturally. I propose a workshop to you for to accentuate the shades and create a little more animation. It is only my very personal vision. Your version is already very "succulente"! Annie
