I thought this was an interesting view of the bridge which is only seen by those who walk or bike across.

The I-80 Bicycle/Pedestrian Overcrossing opened on February 27, 2002 and is designed to provide safe and easy access for bicyclists, pedestrians, skaters, wheelchair users, people with strollers—all types of non-auto traffic—to the recreational areas west of the I-80 freeway including the new segment of the Bay Trail, the Eastshore State Park, and the Berkeley Marina.

PSE: Increase light levels, color saturation, sharpen.

Hi Gary, really wonderful shot. I love the point of view chosen at the end of the bridge and from the middle of the roadway so that there's a symmetry achieved and also so the above structure has its beams or poles rushing out to the top corners of the shot. Excellent long depth of field to keep everything in-focus and very good exposure and metering. The detail and the clarity are great and I like the use of the natural sidelighting. I am wondering though if you could revisit this bridge during the middle of the afternoon when the sun is directly above the bridge so that it creates perfectly-centered shadows of the horizontal beams above, creating another symmetry and making the shot even more abstract. I am wondering though if this would have looked good in black and white, instead of the saturated color, to allow the viewer to focus on the abstract nature of the shot, the symmetry, the contrasts and the play of lighting. Just my two cents. Beautiful shot, thanks for sharing!
