[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The challenge for me in capturing the energy from a sports scene is to have part of the image sharp and part blurred. To do this requires different shutter speeds for each situation as well as the ability to pan with the movement of the subjects. This scene shot at 1/250 sec shows enough motion blur to feel the speed. If the shot was taken at 1/1000 and all the people were frozen, there would be less feeling of action.

Skillfully done! You've certainly captured the sense of speed and action, with two of the hurdlers suspended mid-leap. Your note is helpful (thanks!), especially for those of us who would have no idea how to manage such a shot:) Excellent!

Another really good picture and I like that we can see abit of the crowds expression. Well done! TFS

Nice picture. I like the emotion on each racer's face.. it's like they are all so determined to win.. but in the end, only one gets to be called the ultimate champion. Nice job!

Yes Roger, I can feel the energy here. Successful panning at 1/250 seconds. Love to see the clarity of the athlete while their surroundings are nicely blurred. Great action shot, Roger.
