Another sunset from San Francisco Bay, this time in Berkeley at the Berkeley Fishing Pier. I just love how long this pier is, and how from this vantage point it seems to extend all the way across the Bay, or at least until Alcatraz island (which is the light at the end).

In reality it doesn't go quite that far, but very close. Also in the background is the Golden Gate Bridge, but it is partially obscured by the lights on the pier.

HI Vincent!
Beautiful picture!
Well done

Good luck

Mieky,

Hi Vincent,
I really like the way the pier extends way out there. At first I thought it was a bridge until I read your note. I love the night colors of the sky and the effects of the lights on the pier. Another very nice picture.
Regards,
Kevin

Oh, you beat me to it:) I've been meaning to go to this pier for some time, after discovering access to it last summer. You found a terrific POV that captures its long extension into the bay along with some of the notable sights in the distance. Terrific time of day and no devouring fog for this shot:) Excellent!

Hello Vincent,

A really great pov using the pier as an excellent leading line to draw the eyes out into the bay. Great perspective from the converging lines and the diminishing lights!
Wonderful, rich evening lights.

Now that you have pointed it out, I can see the Golden Gate Bridge.

Kind regatds,
Bev :-)

Beautiful sunset Vincent.. good use of the pier to lead us into the frame with a perfect exposure time.
Regards Mark :)

Boa tarde Vincent

OK, Vincent, this does it! I guess I need to make my reservations to visit California. I would go crazy just taking photos of bridges and the coastline, not to mention the cities!

This is absolutely beautiful with the lovely shades of blue. The reflections on the water are so peaceful and calming. Great point of view as it looks like it goes on forever!

Great shot! Lisa

Hi Vincent,
The 15sec exposure made the water looked beautifully smoothen, with lovely light reflection on it. Nice perspective of the pier and the lights - I like the starry look. Colors are also wonderful.
Regards,
Ramdan.
