[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On the way back home yesterday from Mammoth the clouds and mountains made a wonderful painting along Hwy 395. The Eastern Sierra has had more than 6 meters of snow at the high elevations. The view here is west towards Bishop Creek and Lake Sabrina about 15km from the town of Bishop. The peaks top out at about 4300m and the snow line is about 2000m.

Just my old trusty cool pix a half-stop underexposed in the camera with a little levels tweak and sharpening

And without polarizer? With such small postprocessing! I would like to see at least once such landscape I wouldn't need to improve it so much in Photoshop! :-))) Usually I need to separete sky and the rest and process them differently.

Just looks great, composition well complementing, details, contrast - OK!

What an awesome couldscape. Very good composition. The shades of gray give the picure alot of distance in depth too. Well Done
Good Shot

Just love it! I use to live in California and often photographed along 395. I often think of that area as my second home. I really miss the valley.

The photo consists of three interesting horizontal parts, each of them can be a nice separate theme - clouds, mountains, and hills. This kind of pictures should be used in special theaters where the audience sit on moving chairs and "fly" above earth together with the picture on screen. Nice!

David, wonderful shot. The shadows and clouds make it more unique. Beautiful landscape, TFS

D'une très grande beauté....et grandiose comme paysage...Well done!!!

Wonderful! The light is almost blinding on this photo, but that's natural in snow landscapes. You are bringing us a different side of california with these photos! Wonderful work again and I can't think of anything to make this one better.
Excellent.

beautiful composition, David. The grey and darken tone in the picture give it a really powerful look. Very good contrast and exposure.
I have also done a workshop, another sepia of one your pictures :)
regards,
Behrang

Great view David...must be nice to see this everyday ..excellent shot with very good colors !!

You live in a beautiful part of the world David. This is a great capture. You almost have three pictures here all of which would stand up in their own right. But combined the trees, mountains and sky create a dramatic whole. Your horizontal composition really works with this picture. Your exposure and point of view are perfect. Well done.

David, another beautiful and excellent composition. Splendid, very much so. Great call on the exposure and amazing on the small amount of pp for this shot. Thank you for these wonderful shots of parts of California that I never knew existed. I've only been to L.A and Malibu.

Michael
